My sisters pc wont come on at all.
Dell said it is the power supply.
She told me it has a small light showing on the mb.
    Could it be anything else?
It is a Dell Dimension 4600.
    2.4g processor,
    256 ram,
    GRAPHICS, 64MB, NV18
    dvd+rw.

Oh, the day it went out, the electric had been disrupted because of a downed line in the neighborhood. She has a surge protector.
I have an extra 350v power supply.
Wondering if it may work on this machine.

    Vonz,
zounds like a blown P/S alright. The LED on the board shows some voltage going through the board. The 350 should work just fine as long as the power connectors match! The problem is, if the system was connected to a surge protector why the blown power supply? Was there an ethernet connection? the system may have taken the spike through the NIC. You can buy surge protectors that can connect rj45's and rj11's try APC...good luck, mhu
