    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,Search = c:\searchpage.html

I'm going to repeat some of what Adryn has said here but I also have some additional items to fix. And the searchpage stuff my require some additional steps I have given or it may come back (if the mshelper.dll and mtwirl.dll files exist).

    Goto C:/windows/system 32 and delete Mshelper.dll and then rename mtwirl.dll to Mtwirl.bogus.
Then search for C:searchpage.html file and delete it. Restart computer, run Hijack this and change have it fix (all occurences of C:searchpage.html). You had these in current log:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,Search = c:\searchpage.html
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,Search = c:\searchpage.html
    O13 - Home Prefix: c:\searchpage.html?page=
    O13 - Mosaic Prefix: c:\searchpage.html?page=

Run Ad-aware again and get rid of anything it finds.
Go back to C:/windows/system32 and delete mtwirl.bogus

This next line looks like a remnant of Kazaa. Unless you know they need this P2P Networking I would remove it.
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [P2P Networking] C:\WINNT\System32\P2P Networking\P2P Networking.exe /AUTOSTART

I'm surprised that Ad-aware and SpyBot did not detect this WildTangent crap. You should check to see if WildTangent appears in Add/Remove programs and remove it if it does.

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [DDCActiveMenu] "C:\Program Files\WildTangent\DDC\ActiveMenu\DDCActiveMenu.exe" -boot

Now fix the rest of these:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [kdx] C:\WINNT\kdx\KHost.exe
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [WNSI] C:\WINNT\System32\wnscpsv.exe
    O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions present
    O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present
    O13 - Home Prefix: c:\searchpage.html?page=
    O13 - Mosaic Prefix: c:\searchpage.html?page=
    O16 - DPF: {511073AD-BE56-4D43-AE68-93390514385E} (TechToolsActivex.TechTools) - hcp://system/TechTools.CAB
    O16 - DPF: {739E8D90-2F4C-43AD-A1B8-66C356FCEA35} (RunExeActiveX.RunExe) - hcp://system/RunExeActiveX.CAB

Things to clean after reboot in safe mode:

    C:\WINNT\System32\P2P Networking\P2P Networking.exe

Do they use KonTiki Secure Delivery a secure delivery network for distribution of video, software, audio, documents, and other digital media. If not the next item has to go.
    C:\WINNT\kdx\KHost.exe

    C:\WINNT\System32\wnscpsv.exe

thx for replying fellas.... i fixed all adrynalyne suggested... and i did a search for those .dll files that u mentioned Lang and they do not exist... so i'm guessing i'm good in that department... the internet explorer seems to be back to normal being that i can propertly search websites just by typing in the url name such as cnn.com or yahoo.com... it's no longer redirecting me to that search page (part of the browser hijacker)... i'm going to repost a hijack this log let me know if anything else looks suspect... and i was unable to find the windows folder under the C drive as suprising as it is... i know there is a windows folder on my comp at home but i do not see one here and we're both on the same OS...

Use msinfo32 to determine what the Windows directory is/where it resides, or go to start, run and type %windir% and click OK. It will come up.

From the stuff I posted, I think Chaslang covered what needed to be deleted.

As for your processes *Holds head screaming*, wow thats a lot.

I'll try to sort through them if I get a chance.

sorry man... i appreciate you guys taking the time to look at this stuff... i usually use www.answersthatwork.com to analyze the task list and i can usually identify what needs to go.... i'm just kinda curious as to why all that stuff is still there if i've run all those spyware scanners and also the hijack this program... i know that after i cleaned my comp of most of the spyware that most of those shady processes were gone... i'm only on my friends computer until the next day so i'm trying to do as much as i can for the time i'm here.... thx again

i checked all their running processes w/ the tasklist at answersthatwork.com and everything seems to be fine... this was a computer they ordered from gateway so there's quite a bit of running processes but only 8% CPU usage so that's good... i also disabled a few unneeded startup items and all the spyware scans w/ the various programs are coming up clean.... homepage is back to normal and IE works fine... thx for your help with the hijack this log adrynalyne/chase....

i know my friend's parents are going to be pleasantly surprised to return home from their trip and find out their pc problems are gone...

    cheers

I believe most of those processes are okay. Your right a bunch of them are stuff from Gateway. However I still don't like that P2P Networking stuff. I still feel this could be from Kazaa. Are you really sure that you need to leave those items in? We suggested to delete then in the first log.

oh yeah i definetely removed all the p2p networking stuff and disabled it from startup... his parents were so happy to hear that their computer is running back to normal again that they wanted to pay me =]
