Rescuers have drilled through to the underground chamber where 33 Chilean miners have been trapped since August.

The breakthrough at the San Jose mine came shortly after 0800 local time (1200 GMT), sparking celebrations.

It means efforts to remove the miners through the tunnel should begin within days.

The men were trapped when part of the mine collapsed on 5 August - their 65-day ordeal is the longest suffered by a group of miners caught underground.

Part of Wright's job is to hack into a company's wireless network in order to expose vulnerabilities. When he sees Free Public WiFi, he says, "we break out the champagne."

Ah, yes tons of Canadians wintering here in Florida … along with MILLIONS of South Americans. In the biggest tourism destination in the state, Miami, people from South America comprise 52% of the visitors alone. That’s not even counting tourists from Central America and the Caribbean. These are people with plenty of disposable income, and plenty of tourism options. If Florida became a state suspicious of Latinos, they would just take their billions of dollars elsewhere. For a state whose economy relies so heavily on tourism, especially from Latin America, you’d think politicians would be a little bit more worried about making everyone feel comfortable. But that’s what makes it obvious this little clause isn’t about tourism at all. It’s about using every thin veil and pretense possible to try to legalize racial profiling.

Representative Bill Snyder and wannabe governor Rick Scott, you might want to cover up. Your xenophobia is showing.

This is an interesting and, I think, a valid proposal but the remedy poses some
problems of its own. For example, how many thousands of internet users
come to the MajorGeeks malware removal forum because they know or suspect that they are infected.

If the infected PC/device is their only means of internet access and that
device is blocked, then they are prevented from accessing needed updates,
malware removal tools and scanners.

Hi mjnc.

It is a great idea, in theory.

As you say, what if the OP has only access to 1 PC?
It'll maybe never get fixed. :cry

Lots of infected PC's are of a minor infection nature and can be fixed without too much trouble to the owner, or other PC's.

Hopelessly infected PC's are another matter, of course.

I guess the problem really relates back to programmers, the OS and owners.
Poor AV programs, not running in real time for example, the OS not allowing for "uneducated" users and owners who are new to computing.

Long time users usually have found out the hard way, not to click on everything, etc.. and this knowledge is hard to pass onto new users.

As for Interesting Links, the article was posted by MA, or CP, on the front page of MG and I picked it up there and included it in my daily review.

Granted, it would have had more reads, by MG'ers, in the Interesting Links forum.

The "Health Certificate" idea is really good even if it is Not used to determine if
internet access should be restricted.
