Likely just a release candidate - about the right time for one to appear given the final release date.

Vista betas went through the same stages. Betas with periodic new build releases, then release candidates, then the release to manufacturing, and finally the public release.

This would be little more than a beta release if its' following the same pattern.

Well I tried it an got a BSOD on startup just before XP login screen. Had to boot into safe mode and do a system restore. Im not tryin' that again lol.
