Windows XP Home SP2 w/ all updates and drivers. The PC is an EMachine T3958 and the factory mobo was replaced back in late December or early January with a GigaByte GA-945GCM-S2C. The case has a front panel media reader and it lists CD/MMC/SM/MS and some others, and there's a single USB port as part of the panel. I would say that every media reader I've ever worked with would show up in My Computer as a number of storage devices, and when a digital camera card (for example) is inserted, it would come up on drive E: or drive F: or whatever. Anyway- the USB port built into the panel works, so I know the mobo header is OK. But none of the media slots read anything, nor do they appear in My Computer, and the Device Manager is clean, no ? or ! anywhere.... any ideas?
