I have a Dell Dimensions 8250 with 256 Megs of RAM. I really want to upgrade it, but Crucial.com tells me that there is no memory available.

I found a site that sells Dimension memory, but I need to know if it's a 400 or 533 Front Side Bus. How can I tell which I have, and do I need to install matched pairs?

    Thanks.

    use this program.

Thanks. IT says I have the 533 one (actually, 532, so I guess 533 I what I would use.) If I already have 256 RAM, do I have to buy another 256 to match it?

would your PC be one with RDRAM? Sandra should tell you this, if you do have RDRAM then you will need a matched pair of 2x128mb memory chips to add to your existing 256mb... also check to see if you have space for 2 more memory modules on the motherboard, otherwise you will to increase your memory have to buy 2x256mb RDRAM modules to replace the existing ones.
