I used to have a message board on my website that my room mate built. I completely rebuilt my website and now I get an error message on the message board link that says my discus.conf file cannot be found. I think it has to do with resetting the message board up again.

    Here is the error.......

from that error message, it appears that the file does not exist..
what message board are you trying to get running?

well, I looked for the file and found it but it still says that it does not exist. It must have to do with the new site. It may be trying to read the old page rather than the new one. I'm not sure how to transfer the message board from the old site to the new one.

well, I haven't moved it so it should be. I did a lot of searching for reasons why this would happen and it says I may need to reset up the board but I didn't know it was "set up" in the first place. I thought it was just uloaded onto the server. Since this is the first time I have ever done this I am completely lost on the whole concept.

well, message boards usually run on a database. CGI message boards like yours use regular files to store information. There is typically a config file that sets global variables up that your board uses. With out knowing more about your environment, I'm afraid I'm just as lost as you are.

well, thanks for trying. I don't know enough about it to tell you what I have. It may be just a problem with my website. I'll play around with it for a while and see what happens. Thanks!

Check permissions on the files/directories. Not sure of behavior of the Perl host you've got, but it might report a file not found error instead of no access for security reasons.
