What does Full-duplex sound card mean?

I've downloaded a Smart PC Recorder (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Audio/Audio-Editors-Recorders/Smart-PC-Recorder.shtml) so I could copy my tapes onto cd's. Problem is that this does not hear anything from my sound card. The description on the link above states that Full-duplex sound card is requred?

I'm running on-bard sound from this mother board:

    Intel D101GGCL Socket 775 Motherboard

Any one know how I can tell if this will work for me. I have also tried downloading other software, and have had the same trouble.

    Any ideasconfused

I just read some info in the Intel Technical Product Specifications manual, and it does not mention full duplex anywhere. Here's what I can tell you (straight from Intel):
....based on the Intel High Definition Audio Interface. Chipset(s) used: ATI IXP450 Southbridge and RealTek ALC861 Audio Codec.
So, maybe go to the RealTek web site and get the tech manual for the ALC861 audio codec/chip and see what they have to say about it. ALC861 is a pretty good on-board audio chip, and it should support full duplex as it has auto jack sensing and 5.1 or 6.1 digital capability...
