Function key problem.

I have a Toshiba laptop that i need to adjust the brightness on and i know how to do it but its not working. Usually i would hold the Fn button down and press f6 or f7. Now nothing happens. What it does now is when the buttons are pressed it highlights the IE Address bar. Anyone have any input on this? Thanks!

 

What model TOSHIBA laptop? There are many, so more info might help.
There are also many utilities that TOSHIBA helpfully provide (whether you want them or not). Have you checked your manual?
I have read of something called FN-esse in my manual, somewhere.
I will RTM again to see if it is relevant to your problem.

What operating system are you using? W98SE, 2000, XP Home. XP Pro?
There are various keyboard combinations in each OS.

As a tip, you might try visiting the website, or ringing, Toshiba support.

I have a a105-s2071. Its worked before its just i've hit a button somewhere and can't figure it out.

 

Haven't heard of the model.
Have you googled for your problem?
What operating system are you using?
It may be a function key combo that you have accidently set via the OS.

In my Tecra A7 there is a utility called FN-esse.
Start-->All programs-->TOSHIBA-->Utilities-->Fn-esse turns it on.
Have you something similar in your laptop? Check the manual out again. Bazza
