Funny looking screen…

My sister recently gave me a Toshiba Satellite 2755XDVD Laptop and the only thing wrong with it is the screen has small brownish lines that go from left to right or from top to bottom depending on which time I power up….. meaning their either one way or the other during each session. If I open a box or any graphic the bleeding look shrinks to that box…

Has anyone out there experienced this and have any ideas where to start…
