Funny Pc Screen Issue

Hi,
Was watching a YouTube video last night when my screen flickered altered aspect ratio and went black, but the sound was still playing. I turned the PC off and tried to restart it. The PC turns on, I get an omen logo as it starts but where I would expect the login screen its blank. Where should I be looking for the issue? It has a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti graphic card if that is any help.

 

Start by making sure your cables are securely fastened. If they are, you need to determine if the problem is with the monitor, or the computer and its graphics solution. Do this by swapping in another monitor. If the 2nd monitor does the same, you know it is computer. If the second monitor works fine, you know it is your first monitor.

If you don't have another monitor you can borrow for a bit (or another computer you can temporarily attach your monitor to), most TVs made in the last 10 - 15 years support computer input.

 

Sounds like a 0x116 or 0x117; usually graphics drivers, maybe a Windows logjam from too much going on but this feels more like a hardware graphics card meltdown.

 

so it looks like one of the drives has gone, i got it booted into setup, but it was asking for a bitlocker key for the drive, I entered this but when i tried to repair the drive, it said it was unrepairable.. with options to boot or shutdown, boot just gives me a black screen..

So I guess it is done then, so what are my options? New drive(s) or do I just get a new laptop and use any recoverable drives as externals? I watch movies and do a little gaming , so I guess a new laptop will need a reasonable spec...

what are your thoughts? thank you in advance for any advice.
