    :-D
    That may well be the local headlines when I catch up with whoever.

    I found some porn in my recycled bin,which I deleted,about 4 weeks back,
    ( rather good photography,but boring ) and after my regular scans showed nothing wrong,all seemed normal until I upgraded to AVG 8.5,when all hell broke loose,CPU going nuts - AVG at 20,000 K , system at 60,000 K and I fixed that by replacing it with Avira,and got my hard drive to switch back - it was reverting to PIO transfer mode from DMA.
    System now back to 623 K.
    I do not understand how or why this happened.

    The windows welcome chimes where also fragmented,as was the sound when working online with a "My Pictures" window open.

    Now my computer is slower than usual,and my regular weekly CCleaner and Smartdefrag show higher No.s of problems,currently 7% fragmented files
    .Do I have a problem ?

    SAS and Malwarebytes logs were both clean,others attached.

    After getting clean,intend to created another limited user account which cannot download or do other nasty things to my poor old laptop - so the little S@#$ who downloaded porn and was stupid enough to leave it in my recycle bin won't be able to repeat the performance.

    Many thanks for responding,Tim,

    Requested log attached.plus Malwarebytes from this morning,it found some issues,which I wanted to let you see before doing anything about.
    Scan did not complete,probably because I was not sure what to tell it to do.:-o

    PS While looking up all the files on my computer,found this file,containing fragments of Windows...

    C:\found.000

    - contains 5 files,the last one has system cogs as an icon,the rest regular file folders,(2 empty)

    file000.chk
    Recovered File Fragments
    67KB
    I opened it with note pad,carefully copied,and seems to have Windows stuff in it

    "Microsoft.Windows.Shell.access"
    processorArchitecture="x86"
    version="5.1.0.0"
    type="win32"

    - thought it best not to upload the whole file unless you need it,just in case it has bad stuff in.Googling did not enlighten me very much,other than a Microsoft page mentioning a very old update that messed with the display of "my pictures' files,which IS an issue I have,if i'm not quick to defrag and Cclean,every day.

    You will have to post in the software forum to get assistance with removing the windows update that has affected your pic's.

    In the meantime, Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
    Make sure that you tell --if you receive a success message about adding the above
    to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

    Now re-run Combo and attach the log,

    Thank you,Tim,

    The registry fix was accepted.New log as requested.
    - Sorry if the file frags were not relevant - its hard to tell what is and isnt.

    PS The Combo-fix log may show no spyware program running,because to run it,I had to take off Avira...its back now.Tthis did not happen last time,but my copy of combo had expired,the new one detected a desktop version of Avira which would not turn off in the usual manner)

    I am so sorry,the log did not show up.:-o
    Aha ! The problem may not have been on my end - tried again,and the uploader will not let me attach the log,says its already in the thread.
    Advice ?

    That indicates the you are trying to attach logs that have already been attached. Please re-run combo and then attach that log.
