I'm not sure if this problem is specific to a game or if I'm even posting in the right place, but I recently downloaded a demo for my daughters from the Disney website, called "Princess Castle Party," and after installation I tried to start it up. After a few seconds of loading it stopped and gave me the following error message: SaAudObject: connectFilters: Could not connect pins: source to MPEG splitter. What does this mean, and is there a way to work around it? I am running Windows XP Pro SP2. Let me know if there is any other info that is needed.

On your output to monitor, do you have a splitter; IE: Are you running dual monitors off of one output?

GameSageZB - I am not using dual monitors, yet I checked my display adapter settings and my graphics card shows the primary and secondary displays as both enabled. I will disable one of them and see if that clears it up.

hugh750 - I did reboot but nothing changed. I thought it did at first because it waited a couple of seconds longer than before, but it ended up giving me the same error message.

Well, disabling the secondary monitor in Device Manager didn't work, even after reboot. Oh well, I'm not too worried about it. This is the only program I've had this problem with so far. But, I wonder if it's related to the fact that my screensavers, none of them, will start automatically. They only run when I click Preview. I posted that problem in the Software section. No responses yet.

Do you have any sort of movie editing program that might be trying to run in the background?

Or a settings program by your video card manufacturer?

BTW, what card are you running?

I'm using an older card: Radeon 9600. It does the job for now. My card comes with an optional settings program, but I only loaded the driver.

I don't have any movie editing programs on my computer, yet. The only editing program I do have is Photoshop CS3.

Argh! After searching for the only other person who seems to have gotten this error online (Which was in Thai, BTW, which NO translation service seems to be able to translate ><), my next question is: Do you have quicktime? If not, install it, if so, update it.

    Hopefully that'll do something....

Updated Quicktime to 7.5 and nothing has changed. Still getting the same error message. I know what you mean about searching for answers on this one. I, too, have been looking, but with no success. I'm about ready to give up. As I said before, this is the only program I have that's having this problem.

BTW, I sent a message to Disney support last week and finally got a response yesterday. It was obviously a canned message. I was instructed to uninstall then reinstall the game and try it again. Of course, I have already tried that - 6 times.

Well, if you care to take the time, send a reply stating that. However, Disney being the giant that it is, the chances that you'll get a decent reply within the first 10 correspondents are slim to none.

Go to Start->Run and type in dxdiag. Go to display and make sure that the DirectX features are enabled and that there are no problems.

I'm grasping at straws here, honestly. It looks like this is some sort of weird error that is with their own software, but failed to provide adequate support for those who might encounter the errors.

I checked DirectX and everything is showing ok. I even ran the tests in dxdiag. I appreciate all the efforts to resolve this problem. No need to worry about this anymore, though. I'm not going to bother with this program anymore for quite a while, or until someone else has the same problem and a solution. Thank you.

Well, I'm sorry I couldn't help you further.

Maybe one day they'll release a patch for it.
