I have DSL on a wireless router and the computers that connect wirelessly lag while playing diablo II. The signal strength is always very good or extremely good. Does anyone know why the wireless comps would lag so much? Thanks

are you playing over your home network or over the internet?

I am running 802.11b and I am not running WEP or SSID at all. There is a possible route by wich I could hardwire the PC in question with ethernet cable, does anyone think it would make a big difference?

I'm puttin my money on someone else using your bandwidth too.

This is possible, I had no idea that the radius was so large, most of the people in my neigborhood don't even have comps let alone wireless adapters, so I wasn't so worried about security. I'll have to start running WEP. Thanks for all the help

I think it's actually about 300ft is the max about. You still should have it secure though.

    Re: Wireless range.....

man, I wish I could get range like that... i get about 100 ft. I started a project to see if I could get it to reach to the school, which is about 400-500 ft. away. No progress has been made on this project.

I don't have beer cans obstructing the signal unless the lazy builders of our house used them as insulation, or just threw them between the walls instead of in the trash.

If you want to limit the connectivity by range of your network, if you have a d-link router (maybe other brands support this), you can decrease the transmit capabilities, to like 25% or 50% which would make it so that the network could only be accessed pretty close to the router.
