OK... i got a new laptop and BF2, Blood Money, and SW: Battlefront 2.

BF2 and Blood Money i know work on here because i've played them before, but i had to go away for a while and i let my friend borrow my comp (bad decision) and when i came back, my antivirus software was gone and my baby was loaded with porn, and i'm thinkin viruses.

When I try to run any of my games, except for WoW, the screen goes blank like it's gonna start it up, but then it doesn't. On SW:BF2 it gets me to the menu, but when I try to start it craps out on me... so, is it viruses? can I put my norton back on and kill 'em? or do I gotta reformat?

Ah, which brings me to my next point: if i make recovery discs, and there are viruses, are they gonna be on my discs? (i know, another bad choice on makin rec discs now)

Sorry I'm so retarded, but if someone could help that'd be great

Always look on the bright side of life.....at least he didn't pawn it! (pardon the pun)

And yes! I would take Vipers advice before doing anything else with your lappy.

    Regards....

Just a sidenote, never lend your PC out to anyone who doesn't know how to use it safely, I guess you know that by now, but just as a reminder.

    What a knob of a friend :O

I'd reformatt, so you can be sure it's all sent to hell. What GPU do you have on that laptop by the way?

While I think reformatting should be the last resort, if you are having issues with the steps on removing malware, just post a thread. I'm sure Chas and the gang can help you out.

EDIT: If the games still remain unuseable after you get the nasty stuff off the computer, just re-install them.
