    Hi

I encountered an issue on a cool older cant re if it was 95 or 98 game several years ago now, when running it on Xp pro sp2, the issue related to the way that xp was interpreting the 16 bit older program i think it involved a reg hack turning a value from a one to a zero or similar.

Sorry its not an answer but it may lead you to enlightenment.

    Sorry as an after thought,

Have you tried right clicking on the shortcut and running it in compatability mode for like 98 or something? Not sure if vista supports this.

    G luck

I cant find any configs to alter, and yes i've tried running it in both 95 and 98 compatabilitys, and there are also reg entries to make it compatable for xp.

the game works fine it just runs to fast.

    Thanks anyway.

Yeah, making compatibility adjustments are not going to help, since the problem is the hardware is so much faster than when the game was made. You may want to start looking for fan-made patches that can slow down the game, if the publishers/developer hasn't released any.

Does the game run from a "virtual cd"?

Had a game warzone 2100 for a playstation 1 game emulated by software and playing it on pc.. the game would be over in like 10 minutes for a two hour 'normal time limit' to complete it.
In this instance there was a setting to to turn down the cd read speed from 200X...dont bother with this unless you have it running from hard disk and your pc has emulated it so its recognised as a cd. Or if you are using emulated software on a cd game for a different platform..(what i was doing at the time) As it may not be worth the frustration factor.

Hope you win and get it going..g luck
