game saves?

hi, i am having to reboot windows as certain games won't read on my drive (comes up with win32 error - invalid drive) and i have bought an external hard drive to back everything up.
i was wondering if there is any way to back up my game saves so i don't have to start back at the beginning?
i know they are stored in a file somewhere but have no idea where to look or how to go about this.
any help would be greatly appreciated

go to program files on your c: drive > then find the game > then start browsing through the folders searching for your saved games. the reason i can't be more specific than what i am is because every game saves their save games differently. i don't know if this would work or not, but you might see if you could sort the folders by the date modified and then search the most recently modified folder for your saved games. like i said i don't know if it'll work, but it might. hope this helps.

 

hi cheers for that, i've found all the files it's just a case of finding the right ones- don't know if it'll work but i'll try it
i've only had a gaming spec pc for a few months and i'm part way through far cry and don't fancy starting back at the beginning
but if it doesn't work i could think of worse games to play through again

glad i could help. it's funny cause i just did the same thing the other day. if you would have told me it was farcry i probably could have told you right where to look. so are you looking forward to CRYSIS?

yeah can't wait for crysis, don't know if my pc is gonna handle it though? :-(
otherwise some moolah will have to be parted with i think!

i finished playing through call of duty and expansion pack which i loved and still have call of duty 2 and fear to get through, when i can finally get them loaded!

any other good shooters you can recommend mate? you just can't beat a good fps!!!

i'd have to say i'm excited about quake wars coming out. never really played a lot of online games but this one looks pretty sweet. also battlefield 2142. what about you guys what are you excited about?
