game stutters when play online

    when i play colin mcrae 4 the game stutters and freezes for split seconds. i then turn off everything in the backround including the internet connection and nortons and all is fine. now the problem is when i play online the game still stutters but i dont want to turn off nortons off when i am connected to the net . i have allowed nortons to permit this game access to the the net and still the problem continues.
