Game XP 1.4.3.27

Just been looking at this little program. It says that it optimises your system for gaming. Just wondering if anybody has got and are using this program. Is it any good? Will it mess my system up? Here's the link http://majorgeeks.com/download4152.html

Like any auto-tweak program, it gives you very little choice for the settings you can change. In this case, it is a button that says either "Windows Defaults" or "Warp Speed".... which tell you virtually nothing about what the program actually does. I don't like programs like this.

For me, it did mess my system up as my machine booted then froze up on the desktop. Had to boot into last known good config. I have no idea what caused it, which is another annoying thing about auto tweak programs. If you don't know what the program did, you don't know what caused the problem, so you can't apply any of the tweaks that DO work.

I think the best course of action would be to do the service tweak guide on www.blackviper.com and set up a hardware profile with the Super Tweak option, and one with the standard option so you can boot into either, and use the Super Tweak option for playing games.

 

Thanks. I am always a bit weary of things like this. Like you said if you don't know what it changed then when your pc messes up you don't really know how to fix it. I did download it but not install it so the zip file will be promptly deleted. Thanks for the info.
