    Hello.

    What I'm using:

    Pentium 3 Windows 2000 SP4
    733 MHZ 18GB HD (1\4 Free)
    Stealth Radeon 9250
    256 RAM

After recently installing the Radeon (it says it only needs 450MHZ) all my games (all older games) have had an increased lag from none to moving very slowly.

Alt-Tabbed during the games and regardless of what the game itself required my resources were always at 100%. I would then exit McAfee, Winamp, and Quicktime. This would help gameplay a little, but still resources would be at 100%.

Used HijackThis. Just want to know what I can get rid of/have to remove temporarily in order to lower the 100 percent.

All money is going into college next semester so I don't have any to spend on upgrading.

    Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1

wrong forum, wrong forum, wrong forum. Posting Hijack log files b4 reading announcements is a no-no. Posting it in the wrong forums is beyond a no-no. You probably didnt remove your old dirvers rebooted, installed new drivers from ati.com, and rebooted again.

Couldv'e sworn I had read other people posting it in here.

Was on Intel onboard graphics before installing this card though.

did you disable onboard intel graphics?

Yes, disabled onboard graphics first thing.

I installed the ATI drivers in three parts (either couldv'e done one big download or three seperate smaller ones) and had to reboot after each one. Think this could be the issue? And would you recommend going back and reinstalling drivers, but this time the full download?

Here's my history (past week) with this card, though it is finally working.

Removed onboard graphics. Installed card, yet had an INF error when installing drivers off cd. So looked up Diamond MM who had their drivers online and told which specific drivers to download, none of these worked. (Was supposed to be a 22MB download, but always shut off between 1MB-4MB.) Contacted DiamondMM about this twice (no response since Tuesday 12-48 hours til response, my ass). Tried the same download off several sites, including this site. Same problem, download was done prematurely so installation of drivers was never complete.

Finally, since this was Stealth:Featuring Radeon 9250, looked up ATI drivers. Downloaded them and got it working.

Used Ultra WinCleaner One Click (nice product) to get clean registry and computer of the crap. This actually slowed game loading time even more so undid it.

Had done a spyware scan before installing card (McAfee, Microsoft, Spybot S&D, Spydoctor and Ad-Aware) was all clean.
