Games and Dvd's Oh My!

Hi to everyone! Im new to the forums...
Ok over the past week ive been updating my pc here and there new bios so that my cpu will actually show up to what it should be ok updated ATI Drivers to 5. Got a new DVD rom so i can write to dvd and cds ok got all that done check directx out...

My Problem: Playing Games Or Dvds i can play hem so long 5-10 mins at a time some times longer if i reset my pc.. Ok I play games or dvds for 5-10mins at a time ok then al of a sudden everything locks up on me and the only way out is to push the reset button...So been bored all week updating and configing the heck out of my pc i dont know what is wrong...Ive reinstall XP,games,ETC. i just cannt figure it out...Yes ive updated games too still old song and dance...ok-

Its unlikely the rom that's causing you problems but just might be.
