Games won't Start up

All of a sudden after playing many games on my Dell XPS,
The games won't start. No error message, I just click the shortcut
icon or go into window start programs and there is just no response.
I can uninstall and reinstall the various games, but they just don't go.
Is it possible there is some setting that was lost

Did you try system restore?

 

No luck with the system restore. Went back a couple weeks.
Created a new account and the games will run from their. However,
I still have no idea why my current account on my PC won't allow
for this. I have admin privileges on this account.

 

Have you tried changing the video card drivers and running the DirectX diagnostic tool? (start, run and type in dxdiag then OK)

Are there any ? or ! in Device Manager?
