Sure. Just give me some information to work with.

What's your operating system? Which browser are you using? Have you checked that your internet connection is fine? What are your system specs? Where are you downloading the games from?

The more detail you can give, the more likely you are to get help.

I'm just trying to play downloaded games from sites like Real Arcade, Game House, Yahoo Games....it seems that the ones that won't work have Direct X 7, 8, 8.1 & 9 and/or 16 (something graphics program) & some kind of sound card?? I'm not that familiar with all of the programs...I'm just a "user" That's how I found your site...looking for some help from people that know what I'm talking about because I don't.

I have window XP, I finally got the java installed. I've tried installing direct X but it doesn't seem to take...not sure. After I got the java installed more games worked but not the higher graphics one.

Sorry for not being able to explain my problem very well ...but I sure would appreciate some help. Thanks.

    Hi

To get some info to help you please download this free software Everest Free and what it basically does is collect some info on what hardware and software is installed in your PC, this will give us some ideas as to why these games are not working.

To get an Everest report, install the software and run, once run click Report > Report Wizard > Next > choose System Summary only > Next > choose Plain Text > Finish then click Save to File

Once saved then attach* this to your next post, plus if your PC was a bought one from the likes of DELL, HP, SONY etc please tell us the make and model number, usually on the case.

*A guide on how to attach the logs HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post

My initial thoughts are your upto date with DirectX and this is why it seems not to do anything, to double check which version you have do this for us, click Start > Run and type dxdiag and hit enter, in the window that pops up have a look under System Info you should see a line that says DirectX Version, just tell us what it says.

The other bit I read into what you posted above is "16 (something graphics program)" and this to me is refering to your graphic card and in it may not be powerful enough to play the games, but the Everest report will help us with this, in allowing us to help you update your grpahics card driver.

Also as Major Attitude mentions, please tell us a specific game title your trying to download and play as we can also download a test this, being able to use the same software or game in this instance your trying to play allows us to recreate and see what could have gone wrong.

The only other web-player software left to update would be this one as its also used in games like Java and Flash, in Shockwave http://www.majorgeeks.com/Macromedia_Shockwave_Player_d4272.html
