I'm just wondering about everyone's preferences between the consoles, and if you consider PC gaming equal to or better than that of other multiplatform games.

I'm personally a Nintendo loyalist, although i do own a PS1 so i get a few more RPGs than what the gamecube and N64 have. I'm also wondering whether to get a PS2 or Xbox, though I'm leaning towards xbox if only for the possibility of rareware sequels.

    enough mindless talking, post away.

There are always specific 'must have' titles towards every category of game systems that you can only find for each specific platform. Preferably i would want a PC not just for the gaming capabilities but also for the Multi Player and MMORPG. Sure you can have it on new generation consoles but then you need to buy a whole barrage of xtra stuff like keyboard, adapters, cables, etc, which you already have for a pc. Also graphics are not scalable on a console; we are limited to the grahpics cabability it has from launch day...

If i had to choose between ps2 and xbox; I would w/o a doubt pick xbox...for the dimwit reason that PS2 is NO longer pretty by a large margin; even in really super large budget titles like FFX/X2 we just dont see that many games coming out for it w/that much attention to detail wise. Sure 'grphx isnt everything' but im being shallow for once :) .

Me? I prefer the PS2 over the Xbox, mainly because I really hate the xbox controller. But then, I really suck at console games, so my opinion doesn't count for much! :p

Since PCs are much more complex and generally better equipped than consoles (where size and budget are major factors) and more scalable (as Omegaamerc says). But the gaming experience is much more varied (some people run higher resolutions, some people have faster connections....), as opposed to a console like the Xbox where everyone's console is vitrually the same (either 56k or broadband... thats about all the variation). Anyway

The PS2 is very good value, I think. It's a great console for parties, with all the games you can get (without spending a fortune) there's somthing for just about everyone. Mind you my GC has been a great hit with TimeSplitters2 at gatherings, and thats just one game!
