Well I made my decision and went with the Steel Series Merc Stealth keyboard.

    And the Logitech G9X mouse.

Now the mouse is awesome, 3 different hand grips available, very comfortable and well built, has a little weight slot and comes with 4x 4gram and 4x 7gram weights to ajust the weight of the mouse, which sounds gimicky but actually is a nice idea, it will take some playing with to get it how I want it though.
    It has 7 buttons:
LMB, RMB, Wheel button, forward and back buttons on the left side and the scroll wheel tilts left and right for 2 extra buttons and the whole thing is customizable to any key/macro key set on the keyboard.
You can also change the colour of the lights with the software :-D
But the best thing about this mouse is it's pin point acuracy, combine the weight, teflon bottom and upto 5000dpi and down as low as 200dpi with "On the fly" change buttons just make it awesome.

The keyboard is HEAVY, very nice feel to it, again has 3 colours for backlighting, but the main feature is the gaming keypad on the left side with 34 programmable keys, this takes some getting used to, especially for me since I never used the WSAD config, but I'm liking it so far.
The only drawback so far is the num pad is not dedicated, due to the clump of game pad keys, the space between keyboard and numpad has been taken out and all the Del, insert, home keys etc have been incorperated with the numpad.
Other than that, so far so good.

2 hours playing Call of Juarez and I'm liking the set up :)
