Gaming Problems (Win7?)

Hi all,

I recently installed windows 7 and since then whenever I play a game after 20 minutes or so PC crashes...
I was previously using Windows XP and this problem started with the installation of windows 7 and its not due to overheat of the CPU nor the GPU.
Sometimes it gives BSOD. Already tryed to run the Windbg but since I cant use the symbols for Windows 7 I cant know what the problem is...

My PC:

-dual core E5200@2.8ghz
-2gb kingston 800mhz
-HD4870 GS with the latest drivers

Hi

What build of Windows 7 do you have and if it's RTM what location did you download it from?

Are all your drivers as many as possible Windows 7 based ones? Do check with motherboard maker that they have Win7 versions yet.

What games are affected?

If you get a BSOD what's the message and code as in the main it highlights a problem area better than windbg logs do, also look in the event viewer logs for any errors at time of crash.

I dont know what version is...probably RMT. I borrowed it from a friend of mine.

Ive noticed my memory was OCed to 1002Mhz... that OC wasnt causing any problems with XP but it is with Win7. Makes sense since its a more demanding OS.

All of my drivers are windows 7 compatible and system is crashing with all games.
One of the BSOD told something about a dxmmgs1 and other one DRIVER IRQ LESS something :S

I lowered memory's frequency back to 800 Mhz and till now the system looks more stable...if problems persist I'll ring a bell.
