Gaming XP Config?

Is it possible to set up two separate user config. on XP. I want to boot to one user and be able to due normal XP functions, word, online etc. and then boot up with another user and have it config for strictly gameing, ie. services, tweaks etc shutdown for gaming experience only. I am nervous about trying it without asking assuming someone else has or is currently doing this. I wasn't sure if I shut off some services for gaming that they would stay off no matter how I booted up. Thanks

 

i think if you go into your hardware profiles and disable akll the processes that are not needed then set up a menu at boot up to select either your `office` config or your gaming config, i did this and got a little extra outa my now aging hardware but i did it a while ago so cant remember the specifics ( damn the weed )

 

Hardware profiles don't allow you to boot with different services enabled/disabled AFAIK...

there is an option in xp to allow you to create profiles which will enable and dissable differing combinations of services. i have mine set for office and gaming.

i cant be specific cos i only done it once and it works ok for me but if you search the sys / optimiser sites you should be able to find it.

 

Actually there is a way to set different services to run at startup using different hardware profiles. It's late or I would post the procedure. However, if you go to www.blackviper.com he goes into quite a bit of detail on just this subject.
