Garmin Not Detected By Windows 10

System: Windows 10 21H2 - I have the latest updates as of August 2022
Laptop: HP laptop 17-BY1053DX

When I plug my Garmin Nuvi into a USB port, the laptop does not detect the device. When I go to ThisPc, the Garmin device is not shown so the laptop does not even realize the device is connected. Note the the Garmin device shows that it is charging from the USB port.

This is what I tried:
-- Uninstall GraminExpress & then Reinstall Garmin Express
-- Reinstall Garmin USBDrivers_2312.exe
-- Try different cables
-- Try different USB ports
-- In Device Manager, ensure that latest drivers installed for USB controllers
-- In Device Manager USB Controllers: for USB Root Hub & Intel USB 3.1 external Host Controller, go to properties & then Power Management for each of these and UnCheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

What else can I do?

Thank you. I had already seen that link and it had no info that helped.

Actually I figured it out. I did all of the above in my first post. What I needed to do was start the Garmin device before I plugged it into the USB. I had previously just plugged the garmin into the USB without first starting the device. This had worked fine several months ago, but for some reason I needed to change that order.

 

I always make sure my android devices are powered on before I plug them into the computer, otherwise I have problems.
