I have a Gateway GM5084 that needs its original bios flashed back in. The GM5094e has the same bios.

    Bios-Type: Phoenix-Award
    Bios-Date: March 30th 2006
    Bios-ID: 3/30/2006- C51G+MCP51-6A61HFK9C-00-None
    Bios OEM: C51GU01 series 611E3P09 03/30/06 - 6.00 PG
    Chipset: Athlon 1100 rev 0
SuperIO: ITE 8712F rev 7 at port 002E
    FOR GM5084

I can't find it anywhere...Gateway does not have it...I could sure use it zipped and emailed to me....,Thanks, Bill

Hi 103, have you tried resetting the BIOS?

If you'r unsure on how to do this....

This can be quite a task with some lappy's and can take a while to do, so ONLY if your confident with opening your laptop should you do this!

I tried that first and it did not help. I flashed my bios with the wrong bios. I will have to remove the chip and use a programmer or hot flash using another motherboard. What I am missing is the original bios. The wrong bios that is in the chip is 611E3P04.
The bios I need is not on the Gateway site. because??? It is the original GM5084(and only bios) bios and is also on the GM5094E and maybe others. I believe it is:
    Bios-ID: 3/30/2006- C51G+MCP51-6A61HFK9C-00-None
    Bios OEM: C51GU01 series 611E3P09 03/30/06 - 6.00 PG

Thank you for your help and interest in the problem, ~Bill

I have a gateway GM5084 with foxconn C51GU01 motherboard and I was looking to find unlocked bios for overclocking purposes and stumbled across this forum. >>> http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=40005
I have downloaded the bios file that is posted, burned to a cd ISO and flashed my bios with unlocked version and it has worked flawlessly, unfortunately if u are looking to overclock it doesn't provide the necesaary options but the bios file has worked for me. Good luck

Excellant work. You are the first to confirm that this GM5094e bios will work in a GM5084...I requested the bios file for my GM5084, but the little nano programmer I bought on ebay just a few days ago will take awhile to arrive...and I am happy you have tried it and it works!! (For anyone looking for the bios file, Cadar21 posted it in another thread)....Thank You, Bill

    Hello 103wgold

I am only trying to help with your issue, and I have a GM5084 Gateway media center edition PC as shown here, http://support.gateway.com/s/PC/R/1009054/1009054nv.shtml
I have downloaded and used the unlocked version of BIOS from the link I posted previously, (http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40005)
Also included in that download is an original version of the BIOS that is not unlocked or altered. I have not tried the original Gateway version but I am using the unlocked version now on the gateway GM5084 as i post this, as it has unlocked the BIOS options and works.
If u have found what u need that is good. Just trying to help

Gunman...I realize the bios Cadar21 provided has not been tried yet, and I will give it a try in around a week. Also, after slowing down and reading carefully your post, I realize you tried the modified bios and provided the original link to it. I will follow your led and try the mod also at some point and give you my results....Thanks, Bill

I tried both the GM5094E bios file from Cadar21 and Modbios(at Gunman link), in my GM5084 and got the Gunman results. Modbios works great and unlocks some more features. Cadar21 GM5094e also works great. ~ Thanks all, Bill

Gunman ~ Do you have your original bios for your GM5084? I need to buy restore disks from gateway for my GM5084, and I may need an original GM5084 bios the disk/disks can recognize....~Bill
