I have a laptop that won't boot - it just say Boot Mgr Missing and ctrl alt del to boot. That doesn't work it just keeps going back to the original screen. I'm not sure where to begin. I saw another post but that person had a Vista operating system - mine is Windows 7. Can you help please? Thanks as always - you guys are the best.

Vista was the predecessor to Win 7 and much of what was in Vista is still in Win 7. Go back to that Vista thread and if what was suggested there worked, the same steps may also work for you.

How can I tell if its 64 or 32? I can't get into the operating system to see.

If you have the Windows installation DVD, it will tell you on the label. If you don't, go into BIOS setup and look through the CPU and RAM info. A core duo or Core 2 Duo processor or higher and 2GB of RAM or more would more than likely indicate 64-bit.

It would help you you mentioned the exact model of Gateway laptop then we'd be able to look up the specs.
