    Good Day Everyone,
I have a Gateway MX3562 Notebook with XP Pro.. here is the spec link

    http://support.gateway.com/s/Mobile/Gateway/M210/5415sp3.shtml

last week I turn it on and it says no hard disk found. I just placed disk in the CD to reinstall XP Pro and receive error ntfs.sys is corrupted

After a few attempts it started to load set up in the recovery CD and stopped.. The screen said "No Hard Drive found. Please reinstall manufactures diagnostic or set up program"..

The HD is an "HITACHI" Travelstar Model: HTS541010GAT00 GB= 100
    Any thoughts??
    Thanks

Download Drive Fitness Test (DFT). You will need to burn the ISO to CD and boot from it to test your disk. Sounds like a dieing drive to me :S

I take it you have the CD drive set first in the boot sequence?

Try the CD in another PC. If that doesnt work then their is a problem with the CD

Looks like CD/RW is broke. It burns to CD then I put CD in another reader and CD is empty.. I am sure HD on this is toast. Just going to order one
    Thanks
