Gateway P-7805U Bad LCD??

I just had best buy ship me a p-7805u laptop and right out of the box it seems the LCD is bad. It has lines running across the screen almost like static and a blue/purple tint to it. I can barely make out what is supposed to be on the screen.

I tried to adjust the video cable that hooks into the board and was able to get the static to go away but the screen remains with a blue tint. (For example a black screen will look like a deep blue.)

Has anyone had this problem with this model? I was hoping I could figure out how to fix it without sending to repair. I don't want to wait 3-4 weeks to get it back.

well there is a warranty and if you bought it from a store just swap it, but if you bought it from gateway you're going to have to send it off

 

Yeah they just discontinued this laptop so best buy has no more
