Gateway pentium 4 Broken????

I have a p-4 gateway that does not light my moniter at all I have replaced the graphics card several times and notta, I have also replaced the power supply.....HELP please

 

Did you try to switch the monitor with different one?

 

Yes, I have tried it on three seperate moniters

 

Funny I have just been servicing a Gateway with a similar problem.
The power lights up, the fans spin but there is no response from the monitor.

In my case the problem was traced to a faulty power supply. The control lead PS_OK (grey lead) was not operational, although the psu did produce all the required voltages. Without this signal the motherboard won't start the processor.
Unfortunately Gateway use physically non standard power units so I am currently awaiting delivery of one.

Since in your case you say you have tried anothe psu I would suspect the memory.
that is once you are very sure all connectors and modules are properly inserted.

 

If the memory checks out ok and as you have already replaced the psu, I'd be willing to bet that your motherboard has passed into the realm of the nonfunctional.....

 

I have lights on the motherboard showing that power is being recieved, I don't have extra ram for testing, unless I remove one of the 512 sticks from my main puter.....ugh

 

Read my post again. Modern psus supply a low capacity +5v supply to the motherboard which is always live even when 'switched off'. this powers the lights, amongst other things.

 

I've changed the Ram, changed the graphics card and switched to aknown to be working power supply, nothing seems to make any difference
