:cool Nothing sez Geek like using an empty CD/DVD case as a food transport device...

The threaded screw on type works excellent for transporting food. At 5 3/8" in diameter and 3 1/2" tall, they fit into most lunch bags/boxes...

Men: Use this for your lunch needs and women will love you, men will fear you, and little boys will want to be you when they grow up.

Women: Same goes for you, just edit the pronouns accordingly...

My donuts have never been more comfortable. :D

Of course, the preview stopped after the first sentence, so I was wondering how you got the food into the jewel case...

Sgt. Tibbs: Right. No nuking... :)

Triaxx2: Hmmm... I have a bunch of those as well. Photo display units? Baseball card protectors? :confused

Caliban: Yeah, the small ones for sandwiches, larger for salad. :cool The terrarium is a great idea, I see you you used the extra large one for that...

Hehehe and I thought I was the only genius that thought of using them for keeping random cords and short patch cables tidy rolleyes :cool
I also use several tops for keeping my assortment of salvaged computer screws together ;)

I use my empty plastic coffee "cans", the ones with handles, for that. Slap a label on it, to the shelf it goes. She Who Must Be Obeyed sez I need a 12 step program for throwing things out. When I tell her that I "am" the recycle bin, she rolls her eyes... rolleyes

I confirm the microwave thing, I just tried it... I'm a tester type like that :-D
Yeah the clear plastic starts to melt pretty quickly :-D

This experiment was done off my own back, I do not suggest anyone try this as the consequences could be dire... since I just got shouted at for trying it lmao

LOL I didn't even think of the melting thing, I was thinking more of BPA and poisoning since they're obviously not intended to be used for food. Although it turns out that's an urban legend, which now makes me wonder why I never looked it up before since I'm usually obsessive about doing so when I hear something like that. :-o But since they're not meant for food use, that means they didn't pass the FDA tests, so you never know. :-D

Did some research, Sgt. Tibbs had me wondering about food safety with these.

Every manufacturer I checked uses PP plastic (polypropylene), I found:

Polypropylene plastics have excellent resistance to water and to water solutions, such as salt and acid solutions that are destructive to metals. They are also resistant to organic solvents and alkalis.

Rated as Safe for food containers.
