We all know geeks love their gadgets, lets share some cool / interesting ones we found. I was wondering around my local Microcenter and found this - a usb hub with a SATA drive dock, how cool is that?

I can't stop myself from picking up 'tools' I think will help me some way, some how.. like this USB cable you plug it in and it launches a dual Explorer like window of the host & local PCs for very easy file transfers, so if your not technically inclined or just want it done with networking, etc.

Other things like multi drive bays that are hotswappable via USB. Got this when IDE was it.. now I think there is a SATA one too.

What really cool things you got?

I have an Ebookman-911 that I still use often...it's modded it so that the screen is backlit by 2 white leds and it uses a rechargeable l-ion battery for power

I just played golf last Sunday and used Sky Caddy. It's a gps gadget that gives you yardage to everything...front, middle, back of green; to the water, and everything.

    Pretty cool.

It doesn't play music or videos, won't keep my appointments for me, doesn't call or text, won't take a picture, and doesn't have a CPU, but it is the best gadget I own!
Try to fix a deck or build a project with your PDA, laptop, or fancy phone! :p

Hrmm... Palm Treo, 4gig Ipod Nano, Magellan Roadmate 2200T (I loooove that one), Kodak Z740 Digi Cam and my CueCat.

Them are my current tech toys... can't mention a lot of my software, but that's a whole nother story.

As to my handy toys, my cordless drill/screw gun is definately top of the list followed by my Multimeter, Current tester, Network Cable tester and my itty-bitty screwdriver set.

    *grin*

@ Smoking... love that mod, but it can't be too good for the computer... :)

My new favorite gadget is unfortunately one that can and has been used to play pirated games on the Nintendo DS. So I won't post a link to it here, because I don't want to encourage piracy of portable games.

    But it rocks :)

I had a Fluke (2nd hand) but the cost to keep it was too much, so I resold it. But I have a Validator not quite as many functions, but good for cable testing, etc
    $1000 vs $4500...

I have an M3 for running homebrew on the DS, win2ds, etc... there is a 'wardriving' app too. There was a book written on GBA programming that Nintendo said couldn't be published, so the author gave it away!! Homebrewers are the best.

I have a lot of P.C. gadgets that I really like, (no surprise, there). Letz-see, I have a V.C.R. to USB dongle that I use to convert My, and other's Video tapes to DVD. Nothing fancy, I just like it 'cause it's real handy. I do like my dual wide-screen monitors on my main PC. Oh yeah, I bought a cinema quality DTS surround sound card that sounds real 'boss' with the surround speaker system.

Some non P.C. related stuff. Hmm, I have a few lasers, some home built powerful ones, and some bought. Fun to play with at times. My model rockets, I haven’t flown for a while, but they were cool, as well.

Yep, I have a lot of weird, uber-geek toys, lol! LOL

Not really, my work is for dept of health and medical research in ophthalmology, but the consultant surgeons I work for do laser correction in private practice ( sadly Jim the cost of getting to UK would outweigh the discount for you ), I would get discount, however I will pose this..... I work with eye surgeons and out of the 5 senior consultants and 4 juniors how many that wear glasses do you think would opt for laser correction? A. none... kinda telling me thinks!

I wear glasses and have done from the age of 13, did concider correction but now its not a major concern of mine, rather stick with glasses.... more to worry about with eyesight is mauclar degeneration ( my research area ) and at an early age helping to prevent or slow its progression once I pass 50.

Sounds like nothing but my 2.5" Sata USB enclosure. It's basically an 80gb USB drive that fits in the pocket and runs off a single USB cable, no power cable needed :)
