    "Speed.exe has caused an error and needs to close immediately.We are sorry for the inconvience.."
    -->First i thought it is the cd fault..but it plays fine in my friends computer..which has less system specfns than i have....
    -->then i thought of playing another game Recoil,which also needs game cd to be inserted in order to play... to my shock it too shows the same error...
    whats the problem geeks....Other cds which have auto run function[Such as Chip etc..]work fine on my computer.....

    NFS-U2 is protected by SafeDisc. Recoil i don't know, but probably SafeDisc too. Both games causing this error may mean you have a corrupt SafeDisc Driver. You can download an update here.

    Open up your event viewer (start->run, type eventvwr.msc and press enter). In the event viewer look for the most recent error in the applications section (red x, source should be your game). Right click on it and select properties. Press the copy button (the one with the 2 pages on it) in the window that appears and paste whatever it copies to the clipboard here.

    Faulting application speed2.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module speed2.exe, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x001794f7.

    For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

    -->Faulting application speed2.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module speed2.exe, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x001794f7.

    The above error is for NFS-U2:confused:

    -->Faulting application recoil.exe, version 1.0.6.8, faulting module recoil.exe, version 1.0.6.8, fault address 0x000b3a32.

    The above error is for recoil game:confused:

    You can try uninstall/reinstall NFSU2 and install the updates one at a time so that you can determine what causing the problem.

    What are your system spec's? Video, cpu speed and memory?

    Hi asher_friends
    Because copy protection code now seeks and detects "vitual drive emulation" and "error emulation" software, I would recommend turning off your virtual drives and copy protection emulators. The reason I mention this, is because SafeDisc has "blacklisted" CloneCD, Alcohol120% and several other CD drive emulators and even if you're not using copy-protection emulation for your game, some SafeDisc protected games will fail to run.:)

    In case prometheos hasn't hit on the answer ...

    "I had this problem till i upgraded to my 2.8ghz from a 350mhz and now the game loads without a problem at all..btw you need at least 32mb of video and 256memory(specially if you use xp)
    you should check the sys req's before buying a game."
