You do realize it's just going to go down more in price. And the fact that DX10 only works on Vista. Even though it does DX9 why would you pay 599.99 for a DX9 card? If DX10 games were available now and DX10 worked on Vista, I'd still wait for a price drop. Call me crazy but I'm waiting until I see that Vista is good and stable, DX10 works like it should, There are several games I want to play that use DX10, and I want to see what unravels in 2007 with ATI. I love Nvidia, but I think ATI is going to make something insane here before too much longer.

 

Back when DX 8 was out, ATI came out with a killer dx9 graphics card (I believe the 9700 pro). It kicked but on DX8 games, but dx9 games were non-existant.

Same with this dx10 card. I'm, eventually, going to get it. Right now, it kicks butt on dx9 games with XP, but when vista for the consumer comes out, it will be great for dx10 (for awhile).

If one always waits for the next best thing, one would never buy anything. There are a few who will always jump at the best bleeding edge. Right now, that is Nvidia.

We'll have to see/read more info on what is going on with nvidia, and AMD with the lawsuits from the us gov is doing.

 

@theefool: I thought about that too, but i still couldn't bring myself to pay that much for a dx9 card. I bought mine when it came out and it was $330. To add to that the only game i've heard coming out for dx10 currently is crysis.

 

Reason i bought my 8800GTX is cause Ive had a fawking Geforce 5200FX for like years... I have never even Played a Game that had a 7900 or something on it and Ran smooth... Jeez man I've been stuck on KOREAN GAMING FOR YEARS!! >_< cause the graphics dont demand much But I gave all that the finger when I bought an 8800 GTX
