Geforce 8600gt dvi to hdmi hdtv why no picture?

    Can anyone help i have a geforce 8600gt and connected my hdtv 32" with a dvi to hdmi cable the tv says its pc compatible and i have tried every setting on every resolution and setting as clone to see any difference and all i get is the NO SIGNAL display any ideas i am desperate it install the tv on the computer and detects everything dont know why?
