About two weeks ago I put a Geforce 9400 GT card in my machine, since then it’s taking about 45 seconds (seems longer) to start up, any ideas why.

It would help to know more about your system; make/model of motherboard, what OS you are using, etc. The more data the easier it is for the folks here to nail down a fix for a problem.

Were you replacing on-board video, or another video add-on card?

If replacing on-board video, make sure that your bios is set for the card and not the on-board video option . . . I've seen that cause booting issues.

also be sure you have the latest directx installed, along with the latest video card drivers.

What power supply do you have? if its 400w or less that can also create longer boot times to power everything up.

Any software come with the card? Some cards install some control panel item that loads at startup and can bog down a system. Do you see any tray icons for the card? If so, see if you can stop that from loading at startup. You can always get to the control fro the vid card through the control panel in Windows.
