GeForce FX5200 256Mb or FX5700LE 128Mb

My friend is getting a new video card, PCI is his only option. Should he get the GeForce FX5200 with 256Mb RAM or the GeForce FX5700 with 128Mb RAM. We would buy an ATI Radeon card if they had a DirectX 9 compatible video card for a PCI slot.

 

5700LE ; although theyre both crap; one being the Lame Edition and the other being a 5200. 5700 will be far superior though.

It's no laughing matter when your friend has two younger brothers who will tear anything apart, as they did with his last computerhttp://forums.majorgeeks.com/images/smilies/mad.gif. He doesn't have a wonderful system right now, but I know these cards will be better than the the integrated Intel piece of crap in it now. I know these aren't great cards or he would get a better one. Choosing a great video card out when you don't have an AGP or PCI-e slot isn't really possible. These are our choices, unless you have a better idea (besides buying a new motherboard, which may be considered in the future).

 

So, I think we will go with the FX5700LE even though it has less RAM than the FX5200
