GeForce2 and DirectX9

I've got a computer I use for just for games, (not on line), such as Medal Of Honor,Call oF Duty etc.
I bought some newer games and find on loading they need DirectX 9. The graphics card is a Nvidia GeForce2 and does not support DirectX9. As the computer is getting a little old I'm wondering if it is worth buying a newer video card suh as GeForce4 or 5 or if the rest of the computers spec
is not good enough for the newer games and would be better junked.

The spec' is:

Windows 2000 Professional
Mainboard Jetway 8363A-686B
Processor AMD Duron 902MHz
Memory 256MB 100MHz
HDD: 38GB (50% free)
Video GeForce2 MX100
Sound Via AC97 Version 5.00 On Board

I've no real idea what a suitable specification would be so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

ok that system is to old to play anything newer than say 2003 sorry.

Of that system we can re use the Case, opticals, and HD as long as they work for you.


Now replace the rest

Thanks for the good clear reply, this helps greatly. Think I'll go for a case as well and upgrade to a DVD Writer - make a job of it.
