I would like to get a list of "needed" Windows updates in a text file. By "needed," I mean ones that have not yet been installed. I know that Microsoft categorizes updates into at least 2 categories-- optional updates and "not optional" updates. By optional, they seem to just mean updates that are really not very important for most users (or something along those lines).

To do this, I was trying to figure out some power shell code that would output the information. From there, worse case, I could copy and paste the info into notepad.

I tried to follow these instructions: https://www.itechtics.com/run-windows-update-cmd/

But, when I enter the first command, I get the following output:
Install-Module : The term 'Install-Module' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or
operable program. Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try again.

Maybe there is some other command that I need to type first, which would install some sort of prerequisites?
