Generic disk void usb device

    ok guys i have whipped a laptop hard drive and put it in a 2.5inch caddy it was working fine and still does if i place it back in the laptop, but im getting generic disk void usb device when i plug it in to the pc via usb, im using xp im all upto date with drivers and patches, it doesnt show up in my computer just device manager like that, pic i have uploaded,

    its a fujitsu 160gig 2.5inch hd
    its a no brand usb caddy powered by usb cable with a y split on the end with 2 usb plugs
    im running xp pro sp3

    any advice ??

    Hi,

    Had the same problem. Had to open the caddy and get the maufacturer's name and part number off the chip. Had no trouble geting the driver from them. Maybe you will have the same luck.

    the only thing i can see is ALCOR but if i search for any form of driver all i get is win98 or driveragent :(
