"Generic Host Process for Win32" Problem

For the past few days, after a few minutes online, I get a message that says "'Generic Host Process for Win32 Services' has encountered a problem and needs to close". After this, I can't go to any further websites. However, when I attempt to disconnect from the internet (I still have dial-up), I can't get off.
So my computer stays online, but I get an error message when I try to visit a website, and I'm not able to disconnect.

    Can anyone help?

I downloaded this, but I'm still having the same problem.
Also, for whatever reason, I can't keep my computer clock straight. It keeps going back an hour. I've had some malware problems, and have deleted everything and got a "clean log" so I don't know what's going on.

Check your "security software", especially the firewall. If you have been fighting malware lately you might have blocked Generic Host Process for Win32 Services from accessing the internet. Allow it or temporarily disable your firewall and see if that solves the problem.

Any tips on how to do this? I don't know if I have a firewall. I use the following anti-virus programs:
    ATF-Cleaner
    CCleaner
    ComboFix.exe
    Spywareguard
    Spywareblaster
    Spy Sweeper
    Spybot
    Ad-aware

Could any of these be causing this?

Spy Sweeper maybe. I would try disabling them all and see, if it is one of them you just have to figure out which one. ;)

I tried this and still have the same problem. Another thing that happens is that shortly after I get the message, Windows will blink and start to look the way it does in safe mode. Then it will go back to normal.
This happened after I deleted some malware in safe mode. I did a system restore before that, should I go back to that date?

You could try the restore point but I don't think it's going to solve the problem. I am not sure if this can be caused by malware or not, it is really all I could find that worked for some people. Maybe you will get some other ideas.

    AND

While you can, I think I would go thru the steps in the Malware Forum. Just to make sure the system is clean. It is so difficult to get rid of some of this stuff, you have to get someone to help that knows what they are doing.

At least then, you know that's not the problem.
