    Hi Guys,

I have a PC that I bought and I'm slowly upgrading parts. RIght now I have a store in my city that has a sale on ram. I currently have 2 GB or generic ram. I think it's some low budget Kingston ram. Now to be honest I use my PC mainly for gaming since I'm now done school. My question is will I see serious gains by using name brand Ram like Crucial Ballistix, or Buffalo Firestix.
My specs are below if that helps.
    Processor: Intel Core 2 CPU 6400 @ 2.13GHz
    Memory: 2GB RAM
    Hard Drive: 500 GB RAID
    Video Card: Radeon X1900

    Thanks in advance

Expensive "gaming" or "overclocking" RAM is generally made with higher quality RAM modules. For the most part they have tighter (lower) timings and can run at higher frequencies which give some headroom for overclockers. Stock for stock you probably wont notice THAT much of a difference but when overclocking the more expensive RAM will provide much better results

just be sure to check motherboard for voltage requirements. running a c2d you are running ddr2 @ 1.8 v if its a 965 chipset. (kingston ram is actually not generic its one of the better brands for compatibility)
