    Hello,

I have a friend that gets a "not accessable" error message whenever she has a blank CD-R in her CD/RW drive and she clicks on the drive. She has WinXP Home and has admin rights. She has no problem playing a audio CD however.

She was trying to back up to a blank CD-R and simply wanted to move files to them then "write" them.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

Is the drive displayed with no errors in Device Manager and My Computer?

XP has it's own burning engine built-in.

Make sure you don't have files waiting to be burnt to CD.

If you do, simply delete or cancel them.

If that fails, try uninstalling the drive from Device Manager, rebooting and let Windows reinstall it.
