Ok, so I'm guiding my friend through his new wireless router setup over the phone and we're experiencing some trouble. He has a DSL connection that he has only used for Xbox Live (He has the DSLs IP address, Subnet, Gateway, Primary DNS server, and Secondary DNS server information provided from the DSL company) and he has a computer that his parents have only used with a different internet service provider. In order to setup the router he needs to use that computer. So what were trying to do is get the computer to find his DSL connection that he has only used on XBL up until now. In my experiences my computer would just detect the connection right away but his isn't. Any help would be appreciated!
