Ok, Now the WELCOME screen is gone but now it wants a password to continue. How do I get rid of the PASSWORD entry screen?

Go to Start > Run. In the Run box type control userpasswords2

    Click OK

In the new window that opens highlight your account

Remove the check mark from the "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" box

    Reboot.

It should go right to the desktop now.

I have done that and it does go directly to the desktop but before it lets me do anything I get the smaller dialogue box asking for my password.

Also, I have no password on this machine to begin with.

Does the same thing (asks for a password) if it's gone into hibernation mode and I'm waking it up.
