I use ACDSee 3.1 and am very happy with it.....most of the time. All my photo files are 'Read Only' and I have unchecked the 'Read Only' box and opted to change all the appropriate files, many times without the desired results. When I return to the files it is frustrating to find it is still a 'Read Only' and my efforts have been wasted. I have other files that are 'RO', like my Hallmark Event Planner program, and I would like that changed, too. I am a novice regarding computers and any help in this matter would greatly be appreciated. What am I doing wrong???

Try removing the read-only by left-clicking of the folder and selecting properties & uncheck read-only.. in XP it will ask to apply to all items/subdirectories... you can do the same in 98 but I don't know to what effect.

ot try this it is a program from planet source code I compiled , in case you dont have vb6.
If it does not run you may need vb 6 run times
