They both seem like fine choices... assuming you have your video card/cards already purchased.

With the performance of the Radeon 4870s at the price that they are... I can't really recommend going with anything else right now.

 

Yeah I have the GTX260 already ( just got it last week ) ..

 

ew... the 4870 is cheaper and beats even the GTX280, of which the 260 is simply an underclocked version, hell 2 4870's crossfired whooped three sli'd 280s >_>

IMO, if it was under a week ago, get a refund.

EDIT: I stand corrected, they WERE cheaper, for some reason they no longer are >_< they used to be $10 cheaper than the 260's now they're $40 more, oh well, its still well worth the $40 bucks.

 

Not a chance after what I went through with theHD4850 I am done with ATI cards .

 

What exactly happened? You realize theres a very good chance it was a bad choice of manufacturers that caused your bad experience >_> sapphire and diamond have both even caused driver incompatability issues with thier idiocy, they're the only two I know of off hand that have done that tho. Thats the same as me completely giving up on nvidia because I had about 80% of the EVGA 8800 GTX's come back with people getting thier screens turning green, or sometimes blue, in the middle of a game. I'm still looking forward to whatever nvidia does next, but at the moment they've been completely wrecked on all levels.
